Violympic Trials 2020: Day 4 Complete!

Day 4 of #violympics with Nathan Cole complete! Today is my 612 day of consecutive violin practice. I’m beginning to make sense of these strings. On Day 1, Nathan asked us to try out his practice method for this week, so I’ve been doing my best to come to the violin with a beginner’s mind, looking and analyzing things as if for the very first time. It’s been rewarding. Our focus in this Day 4 was on octaves. First, a one octave Eb Major scale on D and A strings, fingers 1-4. Ascending and descending. Repeat with fingers 1-3. Repeat with fingers 2-4. Then, as finger pattern 1-3, 2-4. Isolate each shift forwards and backwards. Always hear an in-tune octave in the slide of your shift. It was a challenge. I intend to perform them in his The Violympic Theme piece. Check out Nathan’s Violympics Day 4 Video Replay here. ||:Eat Sleep Practice:|| Happy Practicing!
